Strawberry Triple   Decker Cake

  • 1 Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe Classic White Cake Mix (w/o pudding)

  • 1- 3oz package strawberry Jell-O

  • 4 eggs

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup chopped Mac's Pride Strawberries

  • 1 cup vegetable oil

  • 1/2 cup milk

   Strawberry Buttercream Frosting:

  • 1 cup butter, softened

  • 1- 16oz bag powdered sugar

  • 1 cup Mac's Pride Strawberries finely chopped

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 3-9 inch cake pans.

2. Beat all ingredients on slow speed with an electric mixture for 1 minute. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and beat at medium speed for 2 more minutes (strawberries should be well blended into batter). Pour batter into the 3 round cake pans. Bake for 23 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes. Remove from pans to cool completely.

3. While cake is cooling, prepare the frosting. Beat butter with an electric mixer until creamy. Add powdered sugar and strawberries on low speed until creamy. Add more powdered sugar if the frosting is too thin and add strawberries if too thick.

4. Place 1 round cake on serving plate and begin frosting. Frost between layers, on top and on the sides of the cake. Garnish if desired. Serve immediately or chill for up to 1 week.
