In the late 1990s, 4th generation farmer Kemp McLeod began adding his own touch to the family legacy by planting strawberries, blackberries, scuppernongs, watermelons, squash, corn, and more for our market. His vision was simple: to create a place where the locals could always count on finding the freshest, most flavorful produce.

But Kemp’s ideas didn’t stop in the fields. He dreamed of the farm as a gathering place—where families could make memories together. A u-pick strawberry patch was planted, school field trips were welcomed, and a themed corn maze soon became a seasonal favorite. Understanding that beach travelers passing through also deserved a warm welcome, Kemp large, clean restrooms were added and he expanded the market to include a bakery and ice cream shop. What started as a farm for growing crops was growing into something even bigger—a destination to bring people together.
Homemade Baked Goods
Step into our bakery and discover the sweet side of the farm! We bake fresh fruit breads that are perfect for slicing—or turning into the most delicious French toast. You’ll also find classics like banana nut bread, angel food cake, and zucchini loaves. And don’t miss the bossman’s favorite: our nutty fruit cake, even better than the traditional holiday classic. Our pumpkin roll is a farm favorite—soft, spiced pumpkin cake rolled with a rich cream cheese filling. It’s the perfect dessert for fall gatherings, holidays, or anytime you’re craving something sweet and cozy.

Proudly serving Tony's Ice Cream at our Roadside Market! Tony's Ice Cream is a family-owned run restaurant in downtown Gastonia, NC. They make some of the best homemade ice cream you'll ever taste! Featuring flavors such as Peach, Butter Pecan, Black Walnut, Strawberry, Lemon and Grape! You can ask for any flavor to be made into a milkshake or enjoy it on top of one of our homemade waffle cones!
