Did you know that watermelons are 92% water?  So the best way to to beat the South Carolina summertime heat is by cutting into a juicy watermelon.  In July and August, we harvest the sweetest cantaloupe and seeded and seedless watermelon around.  When picking a watermelon, make sure it is dark green in color and has a few dents.  With cantaloupe, make sure it is not too soft but yellow on the bottom.  The only question remaining is- salt or no salt?
