Grapes-

Muscadines & Scuppernongs

Ripening from August to the end of September, our locals love our homegrown grapes.  We grow 2 varieties of grapes- muscadines & scuppernongs.  Muscadine grapes have a purple, almost black color while the scuppernongs (a species of muscadine) is known for its green skin.  Both are fat free and full of antioxidants and fiber known to lower cholesterol levels.  You can pick up a jug of grape cider at our Roadside Market, or make your own wine at home with them!
