McLeod Farms School Tours
McLeod Farms is once again offering the surrounding schools a chance to Come and See the Farm. This is a program designed to educate children between the ages of 4-8 to learn about a farm and experience it hands-on. We offer this exciting and educational program during two seasons: Strawberry and Pumpkin.
The Strawberry program is offered in the spring. During this season, the children are read a strawberry story, get to eat a ripe strawberry and strawberry ice-cream. They also get to pick their own container of the fruit. On their way to the strawberry patch, they are informed of the other fruits and vegetables that we grow here at McLeod Farms on a hay ride. Finally at the end of the tour, the children receive a Strawberry Farm coloring book to take home.
The Pumpkin program is offered in the fall. Here the children are read a pumpkin story and learn about squash, sweet potatoes, corn, peas, beans, and other seasonal produce. The children then get to ride on hay bales to the field to pick their own pumpkin to take home and carve.
